Information
for Pre-registration
In
order to receive the pre-registration rate for GALANA 2004, you must
fill-out and return the pre-registration form to us (as indicated on
the form itself) by 15 November.
Download
the pre-registration form:
Form-fillable on a computer (1MB)
To be filled out by hand (75KB)
Your payment
must accompany the form. Note that we accept
checks (drawn on a US bank in US Dollars only), and for those
international registrants who do not have a US bank account, we accept
credit cards as a guarantee of payment. International registrants
will
then pay the pre-registration fee in cash US dollars upon arriving at
the conference.
Below is information that will help you fill out page 2 of
the pre-registration form.
REGISTRATION
FEES
Check
the box
that best fits you (student,
reviewer/presenter, etc.), and fill in the appropriate amount in the
right-most
column.
ADDITIONAL
ITEMS
Check
the box
for any additional items and fill in the
appropriate amounts in the right-most column. These
are:
Shuttle to/from Waikiki:
If you are staying at a Waikiki
hotel, you may
want to register for this service. Access
to the university is available through the public bus system, which is
relatively convenient during the week, but less so on Saturday and
Sunday. The cost of the public bus is $2
one way, and
one-way taxi fare to the University may be $15-20. We have
arranged a bus each conference day
for pick up in the morning and return in the evening from one Waikiki
location central to all the listed conference hotels. There will
be only one pick-up time in the
morning and one drop-off time in the evening. Because
space is limited, we strongly urge you to
register for this as
soon as possible.
[Note: If staying at
Lincoln Hall or Hale Manoa, you do not need to register for the
shuttle.]
Lunch Boxes: In the interest
of maximizing participation
in the lunch-time Poster Sessions (Saturday and Sunday), we are
offering boxed
lunches on each of the full days of the conference (Friday–Sunday). The boxed lunches (prepared by a variety of
local caterers) will vary each day, and a vegetarian option will be
provided to
those who check the corresponding box on the pre-registration form. To help you decide whether to sign up for
this, keep
in mind that
although there are several nearby restaurants where one may choose to
have
lunch, they are all approximately 15 minutes away on foot.
Additionally, all food available on campus
is, unfortunately, exactly that: campus food.
Aquarium Bash &
GALANA Banquet: See the Special Events page for more details on
these evening get-togethers. Please note
that in order to encourage
participation in these social events, we are offering subsidized rates
to
students––and a special low price to all those who register for both
events. (Tickets are available for
family members and friends, too.)
Reserve a Seat on the
Shuttle to the Aquarium: The
Aquarium Bash will be held at the Waikiki Aquarium on Saturday,
December 18th. All participants
(including family members
and friends) who have a ticket for the Aquarium Bash and who do not have alternative
transportation (e.g.
rental car) are advised to sign up for the shuttle.
This shuttle will leave for the Aquarium at 6:00 pm and head back to Lincoln
Hall/Hale
Manoa at 9:00 pm. This is a free service to all Aquarium Bash
participants signed up for it. The
number of subscribers to this shuttle by the end of the
pre-registration period
(15 November) will determine the number of buses we arrange.
