SAMPLE OF A CHUUKESE IDIOM

A fetan nge a saasach (v) – to walk and look around

Explanation: The phrase is mostly used by lovers comparing themselves during times when they set out to look for their love ones.

Maani man nakich (adv.) – to die like a rat

Explanation: This compares the way a human being die to a rat, meaning nobody think of, have sympathy for, or take good care of the person.
